Feel Good!
Cold. Grey. Dry. Those three words remind you of anything? Winter. The winter blahs are a real thing, the days are short, you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Your back hurts from shovelling and the +25 Sunny days seem like forever away. Maybe you just need to watch a feel good movie. Recently a British survey asked, "What are the BEST movies to get rid of the winter blahs...." Top 5:
My Top 5:
5. Field of Dreams... He built it, they came. Always nice when people show up to a grand opening of a baseball park.
4. Jerry Maguire... Cocky guy gets brought back down to size and he shows Cuba Gooding Jr. the money. Plus, a side of love story on the platter.
3. City Slickers... A guy gets over a mid-life crisis by saddling up and putting spurs on his boots in the sunny desert. Hilarity ensues. Take a hike winter blahs.
2. The Terminal... I just get Viktor Navorski, not his fictional language, but I've been lost in JFK Airport and it made me feel better when I got out.
1. Mr. Deeds... He's got perma-frostbite on his foot and jokes about it, beats up a NYC mugger to save a damsel in distress, owns a pizza shop that makes French Fries and Oreo pizza, writes goofy poems that include the word schlub and his name is Longfellow Deeds. My faveorite movie to watch on a cold winters day. |
