Today is Australia Day for all our friends Down Under. Last night the Australian of the Year was named, no not Drex (former Mountain FMer) although some may make that argument, Rush. Geoffrey Rush, the actor. 

Some misconceptions about our friends from Oz, 

-Regardless of being in a different Hemisphere, the water doesn't flow a different direction. 

 

-Fosters isn't Australian for Beer, be-ya is. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

-They rarely say, "Throw a shrimp on the bar-bee"... Mostly because the pressure from Mattel threatening with copyright infringement on the use of the word barbie. 

 

 

Now, some Australians we love: 

	Steve Irwin; Gotta love him... Lived by the sword, died by the Stingray.
	Paul Hogan; I'm willing to move past Croc. Hunter #3
	Mel Gibson; Not the racist, drunken, homophobic and misogynistic one... I prefer to remember Mel as William Wallace and Det. Martin Riggs.
	Olivia Newton-John; Girl has still got it at 63.
	AC/DC; Why else would I have had a Mullet in the early 90's.
	Elle "The Body"  MacPherson; That tall drink of water made the posters on many teenage boys' walls come alive.
