A Castlegar city councillor says they would be proud to take part in the area's pride celebrations.

 

Deb McIntosh asked council last night to accept an invite to Nelson's 2012 pride parade and rally and to attend the first ever gay pride event at Castlegar's Element Nightclub. 

 

McIntosh says if we are an inclusive community, why not celebrate with them. 

 

They're our friends, neighbours and loved ones, so let's wave our banner, have some fun and let everyone know we're proud of who our community is.  

 

The Nelson pride parade and rally takes place on Sunday, Sept. 2.
