Fortis Favours Kootenay Energy Diets

A Fortis BC Spokeswoman says they would love to get more Kootenay Communities on an "Energy Diet".

Nicole Bogdanovic says many people want to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, but don't know where to start.  She says the first step to get involved with Livesmart BC is to get an Energy Audit.  The audit provides a list of what to do, how much energy a person can save and how much they can receive back in rebates.

Bogdanovic is speaking after Castlegar Mayor Lawrence Chernoff said he wants to educate the community on opportunities to save energy and money.  After being on an energy diet for close to half a year, the residents of Rossland have reduced their annual electricity use by over 1.4 million kilowatt hours.
