Rossland CAO Resigns

We're hoping to learn more after Tuesday evening's city council meeting about the resignation of Rossland's most senior administrator.

Victor Kumar was CAO from 2009 and his departure and replacement was not publicly known. The only way we know of it is because the city council agenda has an item referring to this information being removed from their confidential file. Cecile Arnott the current Chief Financial Officer for the city of Grand Forks takes over in October.

Kumar's tenure was punctuated by run-ins with controversial former city councillor Laurie Charlton and a more recent grant application that raised some eyebrows. He prompted the city to seek a $ 4-million grant for improvements to Rossland's swimming pool when the provincial program had a limit of $400,000.
