MLA Asks To Reconsider Cutting Kalso ER Hours

Our Local MLA says the Government's mandate that only 96 per cent of British Columbians need to be within an hour of Emergency Care might seem nice, until you're in that four per cent.

New Democrat Michelle Mungall is responding to Kaslo's ER hours being cut to 9-5, Monday to Friday starting in November.

Mungall says, if she is in government next year, she will meet with the Minister of Health to see what can be done because she doesn't believe IHA has sufficiently examined all of the available options.

She says it is unacceptable that communities like Meadow Creek and Johnson's Landing will have to travel two hours to an ER.
