A local federal Liberal figures Justin Trudeau has what it takes to lead the struggling party back to its former glory.

 

Former Rossland Mayor and Liberal candidate Bill Profili says Trudeau has the potential to bring votes, especially from younger Canadians.

 

Profili says Canada wants a leader and - like the late Jack Layton with the NDP - Trudeau can transcend party-political messages and appeal to everyone.

 

Trudeau - the 40 year old son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau - confirmed he's seeking the Libral party leadership Tuesday - the birthday of younger brother Michel, who died in an avalanche at Kokanee Glacier Park 14 years ago.
