Trail And CUPE Sign New Deal
The city of Trail's unionized workforce has agreed to a new collective agreement.
The hundred or so part-time and full-time CUPE workers will receive a 2% annual wage increase over the three-year term. Trail CAO David Perehudoff says the new contract is a reasonable balance for taxpayers given the current economic climate and the city's needs.
Perehudoff says the months of talks with the union were largely positive. 79% of the CUPE local membership ratified the deal Thursday.
CUPE local 2087 President Jean Poole says they have a good labour management relationship with the city.
