CP Rail Employing Air-Dumps Near Genelle

CP Rail says they are fixing the erosion along the banks of the Columbia River outside Genelle.

There is an ever-narrowing gap between the railway line and the cliff overlooking the river.  CP Rail spokesman Kevin Hrysak says they are using a technique called "Air-Dumps".  That is, dumping material to build up and stabilize the banks as a precautionary and preventative measure.

Local Residents are worried the erosion could eat further towards the track and that would risk a train or its load falling into the river.
