Man Unscathed After Jump From Nelson BridgeA mentally ill Nelson man was uninjured after jumping from the Orange Bridge. Nelson police say the 28 year old needed treatment for shock and hypothermia after the incident Friday afternoon. He was then taken to the Daly Pavilion in Trail for assessment. Witnesses saw the man climb over the railing. When police arrived he was already making his way to shore. Meanwhile Nelson police have warned a 75 year old man they're keeping an eye on him and his unsettling behavior. Sgt Howie Grant says he claims to be a practitioner in applied kinesiology and he claims his healings bring sexual satisfaction. Grant says the man -who is about 6-foot tall with short grey hair and beard - spoke with three women at a local business and they reported his behavior to be "creepy". He presents a professional looking business card but Grant says he is not qualified and the man is known to police in the West and East Kootenay. |
